Syllabus

An ability to comprehend the following prescribed texts is expected here. The following topics should be given due attention: standard of each text, philosohphical, cultural and literary significance of each text; diction, style and special linguistic characteristics; internal and external evidence of chronology. Attention should be paid to the significance of each text in the context of the Pāli Canon.
 It is essential to have a general grammatical knowledge of the language employed in the prescribed texts. Proficiency in translating into English the passages from the prescribed texts will also be examined.

2I could not find exactly the same sutta as mentioned in the question paper, also regarding the difficulty that there was no mention of its placement. This sutta is 98% same as the in the test paper. I am definitely sure that the version on the question paper was different because of unintentionally committed mistakes (as there are only two or three very small differences).
